What is Dinner Rush?

To put it simply, dinners are created in our kitchen to be cooked in yours.  Dinner Rush is a meal assembly centre that helps customers assemble packages of 5 or 10 entrees, that serve (4-6) people, in less than two hours.  We offer a fresh new way to help you enjoy delicious home cooked meals and simplify your life.  We help minimize the time spent planning, shopping, preparing and cleaning up.  For more details about how sessions work visit our how it works page.

What does it cost?

Costs vary based upon:

  • What size of package you are wanting to purchase
  • If you are adding additional entrees to your package order
  • If you are assembling them yourself during an in-store Assembly Session
  • If you are picking up a package of meals that Dinner Rush has assembled for you
  • If you are having your assembled meals delivered
  • If you are purchasing meals from our Grab & Go cooler or freezer

The most cost effective option is ordering our 10 meal package of (4-6) servings, assembled by you in our store for $239.00.  As each meal will serve 4 - 6 people, that's only $4.00 - $6.00 per serving!!  Please click here for our specific pricing details.

How much time will I need to make my dinners?

This will depend upon the number of items you’re making, and the speed at which you work.  Each entree takes 5 to 10 minutes to make.  An order of 10 meals should take less than 2 hours, five meals will take about an hour.  This is likely faster than the time it currently takes you to shop, prepare and clean up after 1 meal!  You don’t need to rush.  Relax and enjoy your time in our kitchen.

My life is really crazy, will Dinner Rush assemble my meals for me?

Of course we will!  We understand that life is hectic and there may be other demands on your time.  For an additional fee, you can select a pick up time from our calendar, pre-order a package of meals, and Dinner Rush will assemble your meals for you.

Do I need to bring anything?

You will need to bring a large cooler, laundry basket, or similar container in which to transport your food home.  We provide everything else! This includes aprons, plastic gloves (if desired) and the food packaging needs for your meals.  We recommend that you wear comfortable shoes and clothing as you’ll spend most of the two hour session moving from station to station preparing your meals.

I don’t really know how to cook, will I be able to do this?

Yes! One of the benefits of Dinner Rush sessions is that it will boost your confidence in the kitchen. In addition to all the preparation, we provide simple step-by-step instructions.  If you can scoop and stir, you can do this.  If you’re still not convinced, we have staff available during your session if you have trouble figuring out the difference between a zester and a whisk.  And once you get home you’ll find our simple cooking instructions will be a breeze to follow.

Will this really save me time and money?

You will be amazed!  Dinner Rush meals minimize shopping, prep time, and cooking effort.  You can come into our store and prepare 10 meals in about 2 hours. Dinner Rush packaging is disposable which minimizes dishes and utensil clean-up.  When you factor in the extensive grocery list for all the ingredients of 10 main course meals, the waste of unused ingredients, and the time to shop, chop and clean up, there is no doubt what a savings and convenience this really is.  Many Dinner Rush meals cook in 30 minutes or less, can go from the oven to the table, or are crockpot dishes.  We help make the whole process more efficient.  Not to mention, no last minute trips to the grocery store.

Do you have smaller serving options for singles, seniors, or smaller families?

Most of our entrees can be split in half and provide for 2 meals that will serve 2 -3 people.  All Entrees that can be split will have the (2-3) serving recipe instructions available.

Who owns Dinner Rush?

Dinner Rush is an independent business owned and operated by Krista Koller-Klimosko and Kathryn Sadler.  We are two local girls who have spent most of our careers working in Healthcare.  Our hectic schedules left us little time for meal planning and preparation. We knew there had to be a better way, which is why we researched and created Dinner Rush – a release from the burden of meal planning and preparation.  Our mission is to provide our customers with an easy, guilt-free way to put nutritious, tasty, home cooked meals on their table.

As a member of the International Association of Meal Prep Businesses (IAMPB), we’ve worked with other meal assembly business owners in North America to develop our store and its products and services, taking the best and most innovative ideas and making them right for our customers.  We sincerely hope you enjoy your Dinner Rush experience …. and hope you repeat it often!

What kind of food do you offer?

Menus change monthly but typical offerings include poultry, pasta, beef, pork, seafood, salmon, and a vegetarian option. We try to offer a variety of cuisines from around the world as well as some more traditional fares.  Dinners are prepared by baking in the oven, on the stovetop, or grilling. Our food is designed to be family-friendly, simple to prepare, and perfect for an everyday dinner.  We also offer a few more adult-orientated meals so you can proudly serve it to your guests or enjoy with your family.  Ultimately, our customers will dictate the type of meals that we offer.

Can I customize my meals the way I like them?

Absolutely! That’s one of the great things about Dinner Rush.  Our dinners are aimed at satisfying a wide variety of tastes. The beauty of custom creating your own meals is that you can create each meal any way you like. Kids don't like onions, leave them out, prefer extra sauce, take extra... you assemble it the way your family likes it!

Do I actually cook the meals in your store?

No.  All of our meals are assembled or put together in our store, but you do the cooking at home, at your convenience, with no last minute trips to the grocery store.

Can I bring a helper?

Of course you can.  In fact this is a great way for you to introduce a friend to Dinner Rush!  However, as space is at a premium, we ask that if we have a full session you stay together at each recipe station.  Young guests are very welcome, and often find the experience fun and rewarding.  However, we would request that before you decide to bring a young guest, you consider that they will stay close by your side, not handle any sharp kitchen utensils, and not negatively impact the relaxing experience of our other customers.  We appreciate your understanding and look forward to welcoming you and your guests.

Is nutritional information available?

Yes.  Nutritional information is currently available for most of our menu items.  This information is available on our menu.  If you’d like a printed copy, you can pick one up during your session.

How do I pay for my session?

You pay online at the time of your registration with Visa or MasterCard.  When you pay by credit card on our website, we do not save your credit card information after processing.

Do I have to sign up online?

No.  If you have problems placing your order online or would prefer to speak with someone to assist in placing your order, you can either call (244-RUSH (7874)) or stop in and we’ll help you place your order.

Will I have enough room in my freezer?

Take a few minutes to clean out your freezer before your session.  If you can’t remember when you bought it or tell what it is, it’s probably a good idea to toss it. 10 full-size entrees will easily fit in a standard refrigerator’s freezer with room left over for your basic necessities.

What’s the best way to manage all my meals?

You can place 1-2 meals in your refrigerator when you get home to prepare in the next two days.  Freeze the rest.  Remove 2-3 meals on Saturday or Sunday and allow them to thaw for 24-48 hours in the refrigerator.  As you use one, replace it with one from the freezer.  Your meals will be in the refrigerator and ready to cook at a moment’s notice.

What if I lose cooking instructions or the label falls off my bag or pan?

At the time of your session we will provide you with a summary of all cooking instructions for that month's menu.

Can I order more than one of a particular entree?

Yes, you can order as many extras as you like.  Each menu item has its own a la carte pricing, and this will be added to the package price of your order.

Can I really make 10 meals in 2 hours?

Yes you can! We’ve done all the menu planning, chopping, slicing, grating, and other time consuming steps, so all you have to do is assemble each of your dishes according to your family’s tastes.

My family has food allergies, can I still come to Dinner Rush?

Please inform us of any allergies at registration time. We know how serious food allergies can be. All ingredient labels are available for you to review in the store before or during your session. We will assist you with substitutions or changes to recipes as needed. Please be aware that common food allergens such as milk and nuts are used in some of our recipes and will be present during most sessions.

I need to reschedule, what do I do?

Life happens, we understand. Food and the flu don’t mix, so if you’re not feeling well, we encourage you to call and reschedule.  If possible, please try to reschedule at least 72 hours before your session, so that we can adjust our prep lists.  If this isn’t the case, please call us (244-RUSH (7874), and we will review our cancellation policy options with you.

How do you practice food safety?

All of our staff has been trained in food safety. We follow our Health Department's recommendations for food safety and practice all ServeSafe recommendations. Each station will be used for only one food type and all items are thoroughly sanitized after each session. Hand washing is required before the session, after coughing or sneezing, after using the restroom, and between stations. All safety issues will be reviewed at the beginning of each session. Your safety and the safety of your family are very important to us.
